CEC received recognition for commitment in workplace safety and BIM technique development

CEC has received two professional recognition recently. CEC Hong Kong Branch (HKB) won the bronze award in the New Works Category as well as three other awards in the 23rd Considerate Contractors Site Award Scheme (the Scheme) jointly organized by the HKSAR Development Bureau and the Construction Industry Council (CIC). CEC Taiwan Business Division meanwhile received the 2017 Outstanding Achievements in BIM Award organized by the Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering.

The Scheme has been held in Hong Kong for more than 20 years, promoting a considerate attitude and good site safety, health and environmental practices for both public works and non-public works sites. CEC HKB won the bronze award in the New Works Category, silver award in the Model Subcontractor Category, and Best Model Worker and Best Model Frontline Supervisor Awards – all for the Kai Tak Development Project. This is the first time CEC HKB has received an award of this kind in Hong Kong. Receiving the award not only represents CEC HKB’s efforts in promoting workplace safety have been recognized by a local regulatory agency, it can also help the company win more future projects.

CEC has since 2010 been promoting the Building Information Model (BIM) technique. Of the nine companies in this year’s competition, six entered the final round, of which four were large consulting firms. Among the three winners, CEC is the only one applying BIM to construction. The award recognizes CEC’s capabilities in BIM, which can be used more effectively for project planning, design, implementation and maintenance to raise construction efficiency, quality and international competitiveness.

Both recognition represent CEC’s insistence on continuously ameliorating workplace safety and technical expertise, and have set up an essential foundation for the company’s future development.
