Continental Engineering Corporation (CEC), a subsidiary of Continental Holdings Corporation (TWSE:3703) has been selected by Taipei City’s Department of Rapid Transit Systems as the successful contractor to construct the Taipei Metro Mass Rapid Transit System North Circular Line CF680C Section/North Depot. After more than five months of bidding preparation, and by virtue of the company’s excellent track record and experience, it has been selected as the most advantageous tender.

The CF680C contract has four sub-projects, including plant construction, water, electric and environmental engineering works, building management system (BMS) construction and installation of elevator and escalator. The civil work consists of a three-story underground facility with a total area of 3.47 hectares and a large-scale deep excavation of 22.3m, the structural work will be carried out adopting the cut-and-cover method.

CF680C’s total contract value is NT$9.6 bn. (taxes excl.; NT$ 10.1 bn. including taxes), bringing CEC’s backlog value to over NT$74 bn, a record for the business and equivalent to 5.3 times of its consolidated 2020 revenue, which is sufficient to sustain CEC’s revenue growth for the next few years.

CEC is a reputable engineering and construction company in Taiwan. Apart from CF680C, it is also the contracted constructor for other major transportation infrastructure projects such as the Taoyuan MRT Green Line, the Taipei MRT Wanda Line as well as the Tainan Urban District Railway Underground Project, making significant contribution to Taiwan’s rail infrastructure.
