CEC Taiwan awarded the contract for CQ840 section of Taipei MRT Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin Line

After recently winning the CQ850A tender, CEC’s Taiwan Business Division (TBD) is proud to announce even more good news associated with winning the MRT Wanda Line CQ840 Tender worth NT$5.6 billion (approximately US$ 175 million). These two successive contracts will substantially contribute to CEC’s future income.

The project entails the construction of two underground stations LG01 and LG03, twin TBM tunnel between LG03 and LG04 stations, a pocket track tunnel, all building service works, and the construction of common utility ducts. One of the major challenges is a water main which supplies water for the Sanchong and Hsinchung areas of New Taipei City, requires a switching valve to be installed at the LG01 site without any disruption of water supply. Moreover, maintaining traffic flow near LG01 and LG03 also presents a challenge for the construction team. This project is expected to begin in Feb. 2017, and will be completed within 96 months. The completion of the Wanda Line will improve traffic along routes to Wanhua, Zhonghe, Shulin, and Tucheng Districts.
